Kelly Lake: This alpine lake is about 5 miles from the North Fork Canadian Yurt and is usually snowed in until mid-July. It is a rather difficult ski in the winter because you will probably have to break trail. There is avalanche danger on the valley slopes on the last section leading to the lake. In the summer, the wildflowers are simply amazing in July and the fishing is usually good. One hint: Follow the logging road and not the old trail where the signs direct you. The logging road will cut off some distance and hills.
Clear Lake: Clear Lake is approx. 6 miles from the North Fork Yurt. Very few people ever make it out to this remote lake.
Kelly Ridge: Kelly Ridge sits just to the southeast of the North Fork Yurt. Snowboarders have discovered this area in recent years for more advanced runs. Access is from the drainage east of the yurt. There is significant avalanche danger.
Rose's Ridge and Jim's Ridge: These ski destinations are not far from the trail linking the Ruby Jewel Yurt. There can be significant avalanche danger on some aspects.
Hut to Hut:
Ruby Jewel Yurt: This route is best done starting at the Ruby Jewel Yurt because it is downhill all the way. From the North Fork Yurt it is 3.5 miles and 1,000' in elevation gain.
