The Yurts of Never Summer Nordic® are remote backcountry shelters. The yurts are circular tent-like canvas and wood structures built high on a wood deck, offering the backcountry enthusiast a secure, secluded private refuge from the elements in the Colorado State Forest State Park. They are available for rent throughtout the year, winter or summer.

Grass Creek Yurt

Spectacular mountain scenery in a quiet, isolated valley make the Grass Creek Yurt a favorite. Nearby North Michigan Reservoir and Michigan River offer excellent fishing, it's a great basecamp for mountain bike riding, and in winter it offers a gentle terrain for novice skiers - with a few challenges on nearby Gould Mountain!

Winter Trailhead: Jackson County Road 41 - 3 miles from the main park entrance on Highway 14 at the end of the North Michigan Reservoir.

Summer Trips to Grass Creek Yurt

Summer Access: 0.3 mile
Summer Trailhead: The summer trailhead is located on the Grass Creek Road. Follow Highway 14 two miles west of Gould and turn right on Jackson County Road 41. Follow CR 41 for 1 mile and turn right on the Grass Creek Road. Follow the Grass Creek Road past the North Michigan Reservoir and campground for about 2 miles to the yurt parking area.

Difficulty: Novice
