AGNES CREEK CABIN

The Agnes Creek Cabin is located in the southern end of the Colorado State Forest State Park on the Lake Agnes Road. It is 1 mile below Lake Agnes  with the Nokhu Crags towering  just above it to the east. The Agnes Creek Cabin  has spectacular views of the Diamond Peak (just off the deck) as well as a mountain stream  close by.  There is a wealth of skiing for the adventurous tele skier or backcountry snowboarder. In the summer, the easy hike to Lake Agnes makes this area very popular for families. The Lake Agnes Trail is strictly a hiking trail. Snowmobiles, horses, bikes and OHV's are not permitted.  The Agnes Creek shares a site with the Nokhu Hut but is separated by a stand of trees. Although each cabin is rented individually, it's a great site for larger groups - or a chance to meet new folks!

Area Trails and Attractions

Lake Agnes - Lake Agnes is a fairly easy hike about 1 mile from the Agnes Creek cabin. The lake sits at treeline and the trail usually has snow on it until July. During the winter, there is good skiing i  the area of the lake, but there is significant avalanche danger.

Mt. Richtofen, Mt. Mahler, Seven Utes Mountain - These peaks tower above Lake Agnes and can be accessed from the Nokhu Hut. There is nice skiing on  the slopes between Seven Utes and Mahler - again be aware of avalanche danger.

American Lakes, Thunder Pass - The easiest access for this area is from the Michigan Ditch trail on Cameron Pass. American Lakes is a heavily used snowmobile route in the winter.
